Our response to COVID-19 goes much further. We stand up with communities to advance relief efforts
Shortly after the World Health Organization (WHO) characterized COVID-19 as a pandemic, we immediately introduced a set of measures to support global and national efforts to help tackle the spread of COVID-19.
Our response then goes much further. Managing through and recovering from this global crisis take everyone’s support and we are standing up to advance relief efforts in the communities.

- As hospitals buckle from surge in COVID-19 cases, Indonesia faces oxygen shortage in July 2021. In solidarity, we are committed to provide 1,200 tons of oxygen every month, to save lives and supporting the country’s fight against COVID-19. Find out more here.
- In July 2021, APP Sinar Mas donates over 1,200 tons of oxygen every month. This is our solidarity action to help Indonesia facing the oxygen shortage, as hospitals buckle from surge in COVID-19 cases. The oxygen will be distributed South Sumatera, West Java and more regions in the future, with support from the provincial government, police, and all stakeholders. For full story, click here.
- Our China office worked with the Indonesia China Chamber of Commerce (Inacham) to send medical supplies, including 40 tons of N95 masks, surgical masks, and disinfectant wipes, to the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) for further distribution to hospitals.
- We partnered with Temasek Foundation for #BYOBclean initiative to help distribute hand sanitizers to all households in Telok Blangah Community Centre, Singapore. For more of the story, you can read here.
- APP collaborated with the Association of Indonesian Forest Concession Holders (APHI) to donate 40,000 masks, 1,000 liters of Filma cooking oil, and herbal medicine packages from China. Read more here.
- We joined forces with Sinar Mas group and other companies in the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) along with Buddha Tzu Chi Foundation to raise 500 billion Rupiah to provide personal protective equipment (PPE), ventilators and rapid testing kits to the government's COVID-19 Task Force.
- Helping the City Government of Surabaya, Indonesia to provide 600 portable sinks available across the city.
- In partnership with Indonesia Global Compact Network (IGCN) and Dokter Peduli Foundation (doctorSHARE), APP donated 10,000 masks for health workers in more than 200 locations across Indonesia. Click here for more photos.
- We worked with Habitat for Humanity to promote the COVID-19 prevention protocols and provided hygiene tools for three primary schools in Karawang. Read more here.
Our mills, including Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper Tangerang and Perawang, Lontar Papyrus Pulp and Paper, OKI Pulp & Paper, and Tjiwi Kimia, provided various supports for community around our operational areas, such as public disinfectant, protective health gears, etc. For more details, click here.
