Description Making Stronger Come Back

With the COVID-19 crisis, fundamental changes in consumer behavior, supply chains, and routes to market are knocking companies off balance. Despite of these dynamics, we are ensuring business continuity where operations can continue with minimum impact. There are sustainability considerations across our entire operation, and we remain completely committed to our Forest Conservation Policy (FCP) and Sustainability Roadmap Vision (SRV) 2030.

In addition, since the demand for hygiene products grow during the pandemic, we enlarge our tissue production capacity by 25 percent and increase our amount of shipping to answer the global need of surgical mask, tissue, and sanitizer wipes. In our local markets, we have increased trucking availability in a daily basis to answer to high increases in consumers demand such as in Australia, Japan and Taiwan. We also optimize e-commerce channel distributions to reach our consumers during social restrictions.

In May 2021, we also have started implementing the COVID-19 vaccination program for all employees. APP is humbled to be a part of the first 19 companies participating in the government’s Gotong Royong (Communal) Vaccination Program.

We support vaccination programs in all of our mills and business units, such as PT OKI Pulp & Paper Mills, PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper, PT Ekamas Fortuna, PT Pabrik Kertas Tjiwi Kimia, PT Pindo Deli Pulp & Paper as well as communities through collaboration with stakeholders such as Eka Tjipta Foundation and Kanisius Alumni Group. Our support has received a positive response indicated by good vaccination rates, even a number of mills such as Tjiwi Kimia have nearly completed etheir employee vaccination programs.

APP puts faith in doing what’s right. As we continue to navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic, we are committed to helping our employees and working with all stakeholders to recover from the crisis and grow together with us.
