Sustainability Roadmap Vision

The Journey

Launched in 2012, the Sustainability Roadmap: Vision 2020 has become our comprehensive strategy for sustainability. It sets forth ambitious targets that we intend to achieve by 2020.

It sets out ten key impact areas relevant to our stakeholders across our business and wider supply chain: climate change, emissions, solid waste, reforestation, conservation & biodiversity, human rights & indigenous people, community empowerment, employee welfare, fiber sourcing, and water management.

We developed our strategy in consultation with our stakeholders, drawing upon global standards and frameworks to determine a series of commitments under each impact area. Furthermore, it sets out our approach to continue supporting the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In 2013, we recognized that Vision 2020 alone was not enough to meet our zero-deforestation commitments. So we established our Forest Conservation Policy to complement our roadmap. You can learn more about the FCP by clicking here.

So far, we have met the vast majority of our targets set out in the Sustainability Roadmap: Vision 2020 and about to expand the goals further in 2030.

You can see our progress in implementing the Vision 2020 in the table below.
