Singapore, 22 February 2023 - Asia Pulp & Paper (APP) Sinar Mas, a global pulp & paper forestry company based in Indonesia, announced the appointment of Anthony Sebastian as its first Chief Sustainability Advisor.
A Malaysian national, Sebastian brings with him almost 40 years of experience in the industry alongside governments and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in over 20 Asian countries.
His conservation planning experience in restoration, wetlands, forestry and policy has paired him with governments, development agencies and large corporations towards achieving sustainability and environmental benefits.
Sebastian is a former president of the Malaysian Nature Society – Malaysia’s oldest and largest membership-based organization - and the first Asian chairperson of the international board for the Forest Stewardship Council.
His role at APP will focus on guiding the team on sustainability matters through the environmental, social, and governance lens, with a particular focus on ecological restoration as part of the organisation’s Forest Conservation Policy.
