Garuda+ Project Kick Off in TBU US and APP Indonesia

Garuda+ Project Wave 2 and 3 Kick Off  

Garuda+ Project team has held several kick off events in Asia Pulp & Paper (APP) Sinar Mas pilot sites. TBU US kick off was held on Thursday, November 17, 2022. The event was opened by David Chin (CEO of TBU US). Garuda+ Project Leaders provided the project overview and objectives on Garuda+ project as part of APP Sinar Mas’ Digital Transformation initiative that is also aligned with APP Sinar Mas’ 1-3-6-9 Digital Transformation concept. Lastly, Arman Sutedja and Alfian Lim closed the event with an encouraging speech for every stakeholder that was involved in this project. 

The other event was held on Monday, November 28, 2022. In this event, several sites in Indonesia were declared to be part of digital transformation throughout Garuda+ Project. The sites are PT Pindo Deli Pulp & Paper Karawang, PT Cakrawala Mega Indah (CMI), PT The Univenus, and ATL. This event was opened by Hendri Gunawan as Pindo Karawang Mill Head and was attended by APP Sinar Mas Steering Committee, APP Sinar Mas Mill Head, APP Sinar Mas Business Leaders, and Accenture Leadership. 

What is Garuda+ Project? 

Garuda+ Project is business processes harmonization and digital transformation through SAP S/4HANA and TIPS implementation project towards Industry 4.0 journey*. This project intends to transform APP into a sustainable business, by optimizing technology and automation to increase efficiency and profitability. Garuda+ Project have 3 objectives to achieve such as: 

1. Simplify and harmonize end-to-end processes (in scope for Garuda+ Project) and improve collaboration across the functions
2. Develop and implement the overall roadmap of Digital Transformation toward Industry 4.0 by leveraging the latest world class technology
3. Implement a business and digital transformation Project by leveraging SAP S/4HANA and TIPS 

What’s New: SAP S/4HANA and TIPS 

SAP S/4HANA is an ERP business suite based on the SAP HANA in-memory database that allows companies to perform transactions and analyze business data in real time. The advanced technologies allow S/4HANA to help solve complex problems in real time and analyze more information faster than previous SAP ERP products.

TIPS (TietoEvry Integrated Paper Solution) Implementation is to apply standard Production APP Mills Manufacturing Execution System covering Mill planning, production, quality, store, and its reporting system using TIPS application, integrated to SAP S/4HANA. With the usage of mobile devices and scanners, users will get benefit reduce manual work and able to get online access to production processes, as well as the data from automation and machine sensors, for the management insights enabling better decision making.
