OKI, July 7, 2023 - In an effort to make a positive contribution to improving the quality of education in Indonesia, the Tjiptamas Eka Bangsa Foundation inaugurated the operationalization of the Sinarmas Eka Bangsa School (SEB) and the opening of the 2023/2024 academic year in Bukit Batu Village, Air Sugihan District, Ogan Kemering Ilir Regency, South Sumatra Province. The event began with parents meeting and an open house for prospective kindergarten and elementary school students.
The SEB, established by the Tjiptamas Eka Bangsa Foundation in collaboration with the business unit Asia Pulp & Paper (APP) Sinar Mas, PT OKI Pulp & Paper Mills, is an effort to support the Indonesia’s government in accelerating and promoting education in Indonesia, with a focus not only on equal access but also on improving the quality of education through infrastructure development, enhancing the quality of educators, improving educational facilities and infrastructure, and meeting national education standards.
The construction of the new SEB building started in March 2022 and has been admitting kindergarten and elementary school students since the 2022/2023 academic year. The new building and its facilities were completed 100% in early 2023 and are now ready to accommodate more students. In the coming years, it will also open classes for middle and high school levels.
"We welcome the construction of our new school building and extend a warm welcome to the students of the 2023/2024 academic year. Our commitment to providing quality education and comprehensive educational facilities is part of our effort to provide an optimal learning experience for students," said Deddy Djaja Ria, Chairman of the Tjiptamas Eka Bangsa Foundation.
Deddy also added that the SEB will serve as a platform that enables every student to develop and optimize their potential holistically.
In his address, Tarmudik Ahmad, the Head of Primary Education at the OKI District Education Office, expressed his utmost gratitude to the SEB school for its role in improving the quality of education in the OKI regency.
Tarmudik also appreciated the school building of SEB, which is no less impressive than those in the big city. "The learning activities in this school are expected to be relatively equal to or even surpass schools in urban areas," Tarmudik expressed.
Meanwhile, Gadang Hartawan, Deputy Director of PT OKI Pulp & Paper Mills, welcomed the construction of this school, hoping that it would contribute to providing quality education for the families of employees and the surrounding community.
