To celebrate Mother's Day, four Tzu Chi APP volunteers participated in a series of activities at Insan Teratai School, Tangerang, on January 11, 2025. The event was attended by 11 participants, including Tzu Chi Sinar Mas scholarship recipients and their parents. Activities included the pouring of bamboo piggy banks, scholarship awards, and a Mother's Day celebration as the main event. The children honored their parents by giving sweet cakes, serving warm tea, massaging and washing their feet, and presenting heartfelt poems. This Mother's Day celebration provided a platform for children to express their love and gratitude to their parents, and vice versa. Volunteers were also moved by the emotional atmosphere as children washed their parents' feet and knelt in their laps.
Although Mother's Day is celebrated only once a year, it doesn't mean that children should only show their devotion and affection on this day. Hopefully, children will always be devoted, loving, respectful, and remember the sacrifices and contributions their parents have made.
