Supporting the Movement for Productive Healthy Women Workers, Tjiwi Kimia Wins an Award from the Ministry of Health

Jakarta, 17 November 2022 - Asia Pulp & Paper (APP) Sinar Mas’ business unit, PT Pabrik Kertas Tjiwi Kimia Tbk (Tjiwi Kimia) won the Mitra Bakti Husada award from the Ministry of Health in relation to the Productive Healthy Women Workers Movement (GP2SP). This award is a series of commemoration of the 58th National Health Day in order to improve worker protection.

The award was handed over directly by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Health Kunta Wibawa and accompanied by the Director General of Public Health dr. Maria Endang Sumiwi, which is a form of appreciation from the Ministry of Health to partners and companies who care about the health of workers, especially women.

Secretary General of the Ministry of Health Kunta Wibawa in his remarks explained that GP2SP is a manifestation of several government regulations, whereby all companies are required to carry out comprehensive health efforts which include health promotion, disease prevention, early detection, and disease management as well as health recovery.

"Women workers have a dual role as mothers. Therefore, the implementation of the GP2SP movement not only plays a role in improving health and productivity, but also plays a role in achieving other development indicators, because a healthy mother will give birth to the nation's next generation," Kunta added.

"We welcome this award given by the Ministry of Health. This award is a form of our efforts and support in improving the health quality of workers, especially women within the scope of the Company," said the President Director of Tjiwi Kimia Suhendra Wiriadinata in a separate place.

Tjiwi Kimia implemented various programs to support the GP2SP movement, including policies for non-shift working women workers, mandatory use of complete PPE, health services in collaboration with Citra Medika Hospital and several health centers, as well as outreach and health education from professional health workers.

Apart from that, there are also programs that aim to reduce the anemia rate of female workers, as well as various programs for pregnant and breastfeeding workers, including the provision of lactation rooms, pregnancy exercises, rewards for exclusive breastfeeding mothers, and so on.

"Through various programs related to worker health and safety implemented at Tjiwi Kimia, we hope to be able to spur and continue to improve worker safety and health efforts as a whole, so as to be able to support the realization of improving the quality of human resources," explained Suhendra.
