Commemorating the 42nd anniversary of the Istiqlal Mosque, Sinar Mas Muslim Foundation donated 3,000 mushaf Quran. Sinar Mas Muslim Foundation Chairman, Saleh Husin, symbolically handed over the Quran to The Grand Imam of Istiqlal Mosque, K.H Nasaruddin Umar. "We hope this initiative can widen the access to Al-Quran, so that people will be able to read, understand, and interpret the content as they are increasing their faith," said Saleh.
Saleh also added that despite of the technology and access to digital Quran, the printed version remains as preferred choice of many. Since 2008, supported by Asia Pulp & Paper (APP) Sinar Mas, the Sinar Mas Muslim Foundation has donated more than one million of mushaf Quran to various regions in Indonesia. All paper used by the Quran is made from the premium Sinar Tech or Quran Paper (QPP) and is halal certified by the Indonesia Ulema Council (MUI).
