- PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper - Serang Mill Distributes Scholarships for Vocational Education at Petrochemical Industry Polytechnic of Banten (PPIB)
PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper (IKPP) - Serang Mill collaborated with the Petrochemical Industry Polytechnic of Banten (PPIB) located in Cikoneng Village, Anyer District, Banten, to distribute scholarships to six selected students residing around the Mills. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony for these scholarships took place in Cilegon on March 1, 2024.
Through this collaboration, the Company will provide scholarships for vocational (D3) education, with the intention that upon graduation, the students will have the opportunity to work directly at the Company.
Dani Kusuma, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at PT IKPP - Serang Mill, stated that this program is beneficial for the industry and aligns with the Company's needs. "This aligns with industry needs, it is part of our CSR program agenda. Therefore, selected students will be screened, and we will entrust them to PPIB, and after graduation, our HRD will further develop them," he said.
2. Preventing Dengue Fever Spread, PT IKPP - Tangerang Mill Conducts Fogging for Surrounding Residents
In order to prevent the spread of dengue fever (DBD), PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper (IKPP) - Tangerang Mill conducted fogging in several residential areas vulnerable to DBD transmission. Areas covered by fogging include RW 01 Pakulonan, RW 02 Pakulonan, RW 03 Pakulonan, and RW 04 Pakulonan.
Junaidi, the Public Relations Officer at PT IKPP - Tangerang Mill, stated that this fogging activity is expected to help address the concerns of surrounding communities about the DBD outbreak.
"This fogging activity starts from the Kampung Baru RT01/02 Pakukonan area and also the Kampung Wates RW 03 Pakulonan area because there have been residents hospitalized due to DBD. It will then continue to other areas, and hopefully, it will help address the concerns of surrounding communities about the threat of the DBD outbreak during weather changes," explained Junaidi.
3. Distributing 7.000 Takjil, PT Tjiwi Kimia Paper Mill Campaigns for Eco-Friendly Paper
During the holy month of Ramadan 1445 H, PT Tjiwi Kimia Tbk Paper Mill took the opportunity to distribute takjil (snacks for breaking fast) while campaigning for the use of environmentally friendly paper. The activity was held on Thursday, March 14, 2024, and a total of 7,000 takjil packages were distributed to employees as they left work and to passing pedestrians.
Beny Haryawan, Public Relations Officer at PT Tjiwi Kimia Tbk Paper Mill, stated that the distribution of takjil is a form of management's concern for employees and the surrounding community observing fasting during the holy month of Ramadan 1445 Hijri. "Hopefully, this will be recorded as a good deed. In addition to employees, we also distributed takjil to the general public passing by Tjiwi Kimia. This is the first agenda, with plans for four times during this fasting month," he said.
4. PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper - Tangerang Mill Helps Hundreds of Orphans from Two Foundations
The holy month of Ramadan is an opportune moment to spread kindness. PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper (IKPP) - Tangerang Mill took this opportunity to help hundreds of orphans and underprivileged children from two foundations, namely the Maktabul Aitam Foundation in Pakulonan Barat Village and Bahrul Ulum in Lengkong, North Serpong, Tangsel City.
The orphan assistance program is part of the Company's commitment to social responsibility and a tangible manifestation of the Company's concern for the needy in society. The assistance was provided directly by CSR Representatives from PT IKPP - Tangerang Mill, Lily, to the management of the two foundations. "This assistance consists of staple food items such as rice, eggs, oil, and instant noodles, as well as iftar meal packages for 200 orphans," she said on Thursday, March 14.
