1. Collaboration between PT Arara Abadi and BRIN in Fisheries Cultivation: Strategic Step towards Sustainable Economic Improvement

PT Arara Abadi, partnered with the National Agency for Research and Innovation (BRIN) to advance the Prosperous Village Fire Care (DMPA) program as a preventive measure against forest and land fires in Riau. One initiative involved sustainable management of inland water and fisheries through the SEECTRA Fisheries Program. The system aims to become an artificial fish sanctuary, serving as a protected area for fish (spawning, nursery, and feeding grounds), as well as a fish production reserve. The collaboration includes research development for water resource and inland water management around the Mandau River, Siak Regency, Riau.

Agung Wiyono, Head of Corporate Social and Community Engagement Division at APP Forestry, expressed, "We welcome this strategic collaboration with BRIN. We believe it will bring tangible benefits in improving community income, welfare, and environmental preservation. We are committed to continuing investments in innovation and sustainable development, especially in the fisheries sector."

2. CSR by PT Arara Abadi Supports Maintenance of Bono Crossroad spanning 30 KM

APP Group, through PT Arara Abadi – Merawang District, conducted corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities by maintaining and repairing the Bono Crossroad in Pelalawan Regency, Riau, covering approximately 30 KM. This initiative aims to assist the local community using the Bono Crossroad and boost the local economy.

3. Compassionate Visit to Jompo Harapan Kita Shelter in Palembang

Tzu Chi APP Regional Sumatra Selatan volunteer community made a compassionate visit to the Jompo Harapan Kita Shelter on Sosial KM 5 Street in Palembang on Saturday (25/11/23). This marked the inaugural activity of this volunteer community, freshly trained in Abu Putih 1. The visit, aside from helping and comfort to the elderly residing at the shelther, served as an opportunity for volunteers to cultivate empathy towards the elderly. 

4. IKPP Serang Distributes Scholarships for 2 State Universities in Banten

APP Group through PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper (IKPP) – Serang Mill disbursed scholarships for 30 students from Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin State Islamic University (UIN SMH) and Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University (UNTIRTA) on Thursday and Friday, December 21-22, 2023. Dani Kusumah, the Public Relations Officer of PT IKPP – Serang Mill, stated that this program is part of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative titled "Indah Kiat Scholarship," which has been implemented since 2020 until now. The scholarships are granted to high-achieving students residing in 6 districts surrounding the Company, namely Kragilan, Carenang, Tanara, Pontang, Tirtayasa, and Lebak Wangi.

"Students apply through their respective campuses, then the campuses conduct an administrative selection phase. Those who meet the administrative criteria proceed to the interview selection phase. What's intriguing about this scholarship selection is that apart from having a GPA (Grade Point Average) above 3, the prospective recipients must also be actively engaged in organizational activities and have both internal and external campus achievements presented during the interview selection process," expressed Dani.
