Oei Tjie Goan has been the driving force behind APP’s growth and evolution over the decades. Under his leadership, APP has established itself as a major player in the industry, contributing significantly to the global supply of paper products while prioritizing innovation and sustainability.
It is public knowledge that Oei Tjie Goan and Jackson Wijaya share a familial relationship, with Jackson Wijaya being the sole beneficial owner of Domtar Group, formerly known as Paper Excellence. Notwithstanding this family relationship, APP and Domtar have remained as separate entities, with no overlap of equity or management functions. We would also like to
reaffirm that as of the date of this statement, Oei Tjie Goan remains the sole beneficial owner of APP Group.
However, as part of his legacy and prudent succession-planning, Oei Tjie Goan has recently decided that Jackson Wijaya will become his successor and therefore will become the ultimate controller of APP Group. As such relevant authorities in key markets such as the EU, have been informed of this proposed change of control in accordance with their regulations.
APP recognizes the critical importance of a stable and continued leadership in shaping its vision and strategy for the future. There will be no changes to APP’s management structure or existing Board of Directors, and in any event the organization is committed to ensuring continued adherence to its principles of continuity, ethical governance, and stakeholder trust.

transparency and foster dialogue with its partners.
