1. Companies Donated Qurban for Eid-al-Adha Celebration
As a celebration of Eid al-Adha this year, PT Indah Kiat Pulp Paper (IKPP) Tangerang, Perawang, and Serang donated qurban in several areas. Dozens of cows and goats were slaughtered and the qurbani meat was distributed to the nearest villages. The entire ritual was done by implementing strict health protocols following the government PPKM restrictions.
2. PT Wira Karya Sakti (WKS) Implement River Revitalisation in Suka Maju Village
PT Wira Karya Sakti (WKS), Indonesia military and police (TNI-POLRI), local government and the surrounding community revitalized a river located in Suka Maju village, Tanjung Jabung Timur regency, Jambi. The revitalisation is to improve the water management which is integrated with an automatic weather system, as well as to ensure water availability to farming lands, sufficient water to prevent forest and land fires, and to anticipate flood disasters. Water management is implemented by building blocking canals to keep the peat ecosystem from burning easily, and also as a source of vaporization when weather modification technology is conducted.
3. PT Arara Abadi Supports 'Kampus Merdeka' UNILAK
PT Arara Abadi provides internship opportunities in the company for students of the Forestry Study Program of Lancang Kuning University (Unilak), Riau. This is an endorsement to support the 'Kampus Merdeka', program initiated by the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemdikbud). The students will be given mentorship and assistance on the field, monitored by PT Arara Abadi.
4. 'Kurban Asyik Tanpa Plastik' Campaign Encourages Eco-Friendly Packaging
Belantara Foundation, Filantropi Indonesia and Dompet Dhuafa campaigned ‘Kurban Asyik Tanpa Sampah Plastik’ (Qurban Without Plastic Waste). The campaign aims to educate society in switching to eco-friendly packaging for qurban. It is hoped to minimize plastic waste during the Eid-al-Adha celebration every year. Belantara Foundation is a non-profit organization for conservation, restoration and sustainable community empowerment supported by APP Sinar Mas.
