2022 has been a busy year for Asia Pulp & Paper (APP) Sinar Mas' flagship innovation, Foopak Bio Natura, appearing in various showcase exhibitions and eco-friendly initiatives. Earth sustainability is a top priority at APP Sinar Mas, hence our line of sustainable packaging supports our Sustainability Roadmap Vision 2030 as it was created with the aim to make a positive impact on our world.
Foopak provides consumers with an environmentally friendly alternative to the usual plastic packaging, as it is plastic-free and has biodegradable properties. Additionally, it can be recycled without additional treatment and is even industrially compostable within 12 weeks.
In Chicago from 21 to 24 May 2022, APP Sinar Mas and strategic partner Charta Global showcased Foopak during the National Restaurant Association Show to share more about the line of sustainable foodservice packaging.
Since the National Restaurant Association is the largest foodservice trade association in the world advocating for restaurants, it was a great opportunity for us to share more about Foopak during the exhibition, which could help restaurants take a step toward becoming more sustainable businesses.
The booth featured retail-ready compostable and plastic-free Foopak cups and bowls. There were also the FDA-compliant Enza and Foopak paper brand lines on display, including PFAS-free paper packaging for greaseproof food wrappers, takeaway bags, bakery, liners, packets, food-wrapping, and bags, all of which are made from renewable PEFC-certified fibres.
In Mexico, the sustainability industry is accelerating with the growing demand for sustainable packaging. To respond to these demands, APP Sinar Mas showcased the full suite of Foopak food packaging in Santa Fe from 14 to 17 June 2022 at EXPO PACK Mexico, one of Central & Latin America’s largest and most significant sustainable packaging events.
During this exhibition, Foopak displayed its full suite of sustainable and plastic-free products and shared more about their sustainability features.
Besides taking part in different sustainability exhibitions, Foopak has also shown its support for sustainable initiatives, such as during the 2022 ELLE Run for Green, a race that promotes fashion and a healthy and environmentally-friendly lifestyle in Taiwan.
Supporting the call to action for everyone to work together for a healthier planet, Foopak sponsored 30,000 plastic-free and biodegradable cups for the race. This replaced traditional plastic cups to significantly reduce the run’s environmental impact.
As we move forward, APP Sinar Mas hopes that Foopak Bio Natura can continue to address the growing market demands for sustainable, plastic-free packaging and to continue positively impacting the environment.
