In the National Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Month, which was commemorated on January 12 to February 12, 2023, Asia Pulp & Paper (APP) Sinar Mas’ business units and supply partners have conducted various activities to improve OHS culture, including seminars, competitions, free medical check-ups, and blood donations.
PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper Tbk (IKPP) – Tangerang Mill conducted medical check-ups for non-communicable diseases, including diabetes mellitus, hypertension, gout, psychiatric examinations, and IVA Test by collaborating with local health authorities. PT IKPP – Tangerang Mill also held a seminar themed “Efforts to Improve Workers’ Health Index.”
To increase emergency preparedness, PT OKI Pulp & Paper and PT Ekamas Fortuna held an evacuation simulation.
Some competitions such as the firefighting competition and first aid competition were held by PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper Tbk (IKPP) – Perawang Mill, PT Pindo Deli Pulp & Paper Mills, and PT Kertas Tjiwi Kimia Tbk.
Various trainings related to occupational health and safety were also conducted, such as Ergonomics training by BU-17 and Fatigue Management by PT The Univenus Serang.
“We hope that the implementation of OHS in the work environment can make a positive contribution to all aspects, including economy, welfare, work productivity, research, and OHS programs for the community so that OHS becomes an important line in supporting our business and facing global challenges,” said Irmawan, Health and Safety Manager of PT IKPP – Tangerang Mill.
Meanwhile, APP Sinar Mas' supply partners also organized various activities to commemorate the National OHS Month by conducting ceremonies, competitions, and motivational sessions. The competitions held included poster contests, video competitions, a hazard identification competition, quizzes, and “The Best District” title.
