APP Group Donates 2,000 Copies of the Quran and Distributes 4,000 Liters of Subsidized Cooking Oil at the Ministry of Industry's Ramadan Bazaar

Jakarta, March 18, 2025 – Sinar Mas and APP Group participated in the Ramadan Bazaar organized by the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) in Jakarta. During this event, APP Group donated 2,000 copies of the Quran and provided 4,000 liters of premium packaged cooking oil at special prices for the community and Kemenperin employees.

The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Industry Faisol Riza, Director General of Agro Industry Kemenperin Putu Juli Ardika, and other Kemenperin officials. Symbolically, the Quran donation was handed over by APP Group Director Suhendra Wiriadinata, along with Sinar Mas Managing Director Saleh Husin, and will be distributed to the community through mosques and educational centers under Kemenperin across Indonesia.

The donated Qurans were printed using Quran Paper (QPP), a high-quality special paper produced by PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper (IKPP) Tangerang, a business unit of APP Group. QPP is certified halal by the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) and is widely recognized as the preferred paper for Quran printing due to its durability and reading comfort. In addition to meeting domestic needs, QPP has also been exported to various countries, especially in the Middle East.

Deputy Minister of Industry Faisol Riza appreciated this initiative and hoped more companies would participate. "What Sinar Mas and APP Group have done is a good example of sharing and helping the community obtain necessities at affordable prices. Additionally, the Quran donation is very beneficial for those in need. We hope that more companies will contribute to such activities next year," said Faisol Riza.

APP Group Director Suhendra Wiriadinata emphasized that this program is part of the company's contribution to supporting the community's needs, especially during Ramadan. "Through this activity, we aim to help the community gain easier access to the Quran and essential goods at affordable prices. Additionally, we are committed to supporting the government in meeting the demand for Qurans in Indonesia, so that more Muslims can have better access to the Quran," said Suhendra after the inaugural sale of cooking oil at the bazaar.

The Quran donation program by APP Group has been ongoing since 2008 and has distributed over 1.3 million copies to various regions, including remote areas, as well as to educational institutions and religious communities.

Meanwhile, the subsidized cooking oil program initiated by Sinar Mas has been running since 2005 and has distributed more than 30 million liters of cooking oil to the community.
