APP Group Supports Festival LIKE 2: Building a Sustainable Future with Innovation and Forest Preservation

Jakarta, August 8, 2024 – The Environment, Climate, Forestry, and Renewable Energy Festival (LIKE) 2 is once again organized by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) from August 8 to 11, 2024, at the Jakarta Convention Center. This year's festival carries the theme "10 Years of Work for Sustainability" and serves as a key platform to showcase tangible results and policy improvements in the forestry and environmental sectors.

A range of inspiring and insightful activities are held for the public and environmental enthusiasts. In addition to daily special performances by musicians in the I LIKE CONCERT sessions, the festival features exhibitions of climate-friendly technologies and sustainability innovations from both central and local government institutions, as well as national and private companies.

In her opening speech, Minister of Environment and Forestry Siti Nurbaya Bakar emphasized the importance of collaboration in achieving sustainability goals. "Over the past 10 years, we have seen tangible results from the collaboration between the government, communities, and the business world in protecting and improving our environment. Festival LIKE 2 is proof of our commitment to continue advancing in sustainability efforts and climate action," said Minister Siti.

One of the private companies participating is APP Group, which showcases various innovative and environmentally friendly initiatives and products at the festival. The festival is organized around three main pillars of sustainability: "Innovating for a Greener Future," "Forest for the Future," and "Empowerment for a Sustainable Future."

Through the "Innovating for a Greener Future" pillar, APP Group focuses on transitioning to sustainable energy sources and developing eco-friendly products. This effort includes reducing carbon footprint and improving energy efficiency across its operations. These initiatives are part of the Sustainability Roadmap Vision (SRV) 2030, which underpins APP Group's commitment to sustainability.

Meanwhile, the "Forest for the Future" pillar encompasses sustainable forest management, including conservation, restoration, protection, and biodiversity. APP Group is committed to maintaining the balance of forest ecosystems through responsible forest management practices.

The third pillar, "Empowerment for a Sustainable Future," supports community empowerment initiatives through programs like UMKM Naik Kelas, DMPA, CSR, and DEI, aimed at improving the welfare of local communities and encouraging their active participation in sustainability efforts.

Managing Director of APP Group, Suhendra Wiriadinata, stated that APP Group's participation in Festival LIKE 2 is a tangible expression of our commitment to sustainability and innovation.

"We hope that through this participation, we can demonstrate APP Group's active role in supporting both government and global efforts to protect the environment and forests. In doing so, we aim to inspire more stakeholders to join in preserving and conserving the environment for a better future.

Festival LIKE 2 is a valuable opportunity to appreciate and promote the various efforts and innovations in sustainability that have been made over the past decade."
