Jakarta, November 9, 2024 – PT Pabrik Kertas Tjiwi Kimia Tbk (Tjiwi Kimia) has been recognized as the Most Inspiring Winner in the Healthy Living Movement (Germas)/Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) category at the CSR Awards or Mitra Bakti Husada 2023 event organized by the Ministry of Health. Previously, Tjiwi Kimia received the Mitra Bakti Husada Award in 2022. These consecutive achievements highlight the company’s commitment to impactful and sustainable health programs using the Social Return on Investment (SROI) method to measure the tangible impact of its community initiatives.
Tjiwi Kimia applies the SROI approach to calculate the social value generated from every CSR investment. Analysis indicates that every IDR 1 invested in health and community empowerment programs yields a social benefit equivalent to IDR 5.50. This effectiveness reflects Tjiwi Kimia’s dedication to supporting sustainable community development.

Tjiwi Kimia has implemented impactful flagship programs, including constructing sanitation facilities and improving access to clean water. The company has built household toilets in villages near its factory, providing proper sanitation access and reducing the risk of infectious diseases. Additionally, Tjiwi Kimia repurposes industrial waste such as Fly Ash and Bottom Ash (FABA) into paving blocks used to enhance community infrastructure. These blocks are applied in village roads, school yards, and places of worship, promoting environmental sustainability while improving safety and convenience for local residents.
Through its GERMAS education programs, Tjiwi Kimia actively promotes healthy living among communities. These initiatives include awareness campaigns and training on healthy lifestyles, access to clean water, and proper sanitation practices, aiming to prevent diseases and enhance community well-being while positively impacting the surrounding environment.
The company has also been recognized by the Sidoarjo Regency Government for its sanitation and quality-of-life improvement programs in Singkalan Village. At the national level, Tjiwi Kimia has achieved numerous accolades, including a five-star rating in the TOP CSR Awards for 2022, 2023, and 2024, along with the Golden Trophy. Other awards include the Indonesia Green Award for pollution prevention, the Paritrana Award in 2023 and 2024 for national and East Java provincial-level employment social security, and a platinum award for HIV/AIDS prevention and mitigation at the national level.
The Mitra Bakti Husada 2023 Award, presented by the Directorate General of Public Health at the Ministry of Health, is a testament to companies and institutions that have actively contributed to improving public health through innovative and sustainable programs.
