1. PT LPPPI Maximizes Green Areas, Enjoys Harvests Together
PT Lontar Papyrus Pulp & Paper Industry (PT LPPI), a business unit of Asia Pulp & Paper (APP) Sinar Mas, utilized green areas around the company's location to grow useful plants. Utilization of this idle land has started since 2021 by means of demonstration plots with local residents. This project has shown a significant progress, in which farmers assisted by PT LPPI's CSR have succeeded in cultivating a variety of high-quality plants that support the needs of employees and the surrounding community, such as watermelons, corn, chilies, and Siamese oranges.
2. PT IKPP Serang Mill Distributed Glasses and Furniture Assistance
APP Sinar Mas through its business unit, PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper (PT IKPP) Serang Mill, distributed glasses and furniture to schools in 6 sub-districts, including Kragilan, Tanara, Tirtayasa, Pontang, Carenang, and Lebakwangi in Serang Regency. This CSR activity is carried out through eye examination and the distribution of glasses for students. In addition, PT IKPP Serang Mill also supported schools’ furniture that are no longer suitable for use by distributing 560 furniture sets made by the company from container waste raw materials.
3. Collaboration between Kampus Merdeka Participants from APP Sinar Mas with the Tzu Chi Foundation in Distributing Aid
Volunteers from Tzu Chi Sinar Mas Branch collaborated with students from Tzu Chi University and students from the Kampus Merdeka program who are currently carrying out internships at APP Sinar Mas to help the residents of Kampung Sumur, Klender, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta. This activity is centered at Sanggar Daya Kemanusiaan, where local residents work in informal sectors. Volunteers prepared the aid together to distribute 300 rice packages and 500 lunch packages.
4. Tzu Chi Foundation Together with APP Sinar Mas Help Flood Victims
Volunteer Community of Tzu Chi APP Sinar Mas from PT Konverta Mitra Abadi (KMA) Lampung distributed aid to flood victims from 5 villages in the Candipuro District area, South Lampung, namely Beringin Kencana, Bumijaya, Sidoasri, Banyumas, and Cinta Mulya Villages. From a survey to Agung Mosque which is the point of evacuation for residents, volunteers found that there were around 223 souls (167 families) who were being evacuated: 17 toddlers, 81 children, 109 teenagers/adults, and 16 elderly. The aid packages were provided at the Candipuro Village mosque in the form of rice, mineral drinking water, instant noodles, foam mattresses, school uniforms, notebooks, blankets, and pampers for toddlers. Additionally, the volunteers also provided milk and snacks for the children.
