APP Sinar Mas Activity Recap in February 2023

1. PT IKPP Tangerang Mill Holds Fogging and Catfish Processing Training

PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper Tbk (IKPP) Tangerang Mill, a business unit of Asia Pulp & Paper (APP) Sinar Mas, conducted fogging in residential areas to prevent dengue fever which is currently spreading in the community. This activity was carried out in two community units (RW) in Pakulonan Village, North Serpong District, South Tangerang City. Fogging is commonly conducted by PT IKPP Tangerang Mill to tackle the spread of dengue outbreaks in the environment.

In addition to maintaining the health of local residents, PT IKPP Tangerang Mill also empowers the community. One of the empowerment activities was done by holding catfish processing training on Jalan Haji Joan, Pondok Jagung Timur, North Serpong, South Tangerang City. For this activity, PT IKPP Tangerang Mill invited a skilled trainer, Sugiat, who is a Catfish Cultivator and Processer in the Muncul Village to lead the training. This activity aims to improve the ability of groups of women and men in developing a business by selling products derived from catfish.

2. PT IKPP Perawang Mill Assists Facilities for Delivering Da'wah Messages

One of APP Sinar Mas’ business units, PT IKPP Perawang Mill, facilitated and assisted several Islamic preachers to reach mosques in isolated areas. Assistance from PT IKPP Perawang Mill includes through water and land transportation facilities for the preaching group of the Association of Mubaligh Indah Kiat (Ikami) Perawang. The arrival of more qualified teachers at their mosque encourages people’s appreciation for this assistance.

3. Tzu Chi Foundation Together with APP Sinar Mas Held Social Service Through Cataract & Hernia Surgery

Tzu Chi Volunteer Community APP Sinar Mas from PT Pabrik Kertas Tjiwi Kimia Tbk helped 9 patients underwent cataract and hernia surgery at Citra Media Hospital. Residing in the company’s vicinity, the patients came from Lumajang and Sidoarjo. This assistance is the 4th stage that has been carried out by volunteers as part of the 5 KM awareness program, which is a program to help nearby community to be treated from cataracts, hernias and cleft lip from a 5 kilometer radius from the company.
