APP Sinar Mas Activity Recap in June 2022

1. DPRD Riau Appreciates the Education Foundation under PT IKPP Perawang for Its Contribution

One of the education foundations that was established by PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper (PT IKPP) Perawang Mill, Private Vocational High School from Yayasan Pendidikan Persada Indah (YPPI) received an Incidental Visit from the Commission V of the Regional People’s Representative Assembly (DPRD) of Riau. Through the highest individual score achievement for Computer Based Test throughout Siak Districts, Commission V of DPRD Riau gave the appreciation for YPPI Perawang for contributing to aid the government in achieving the mission to elevate the nation’s education.

2. PT IKPP Tangerang Commemorates World Environment Day to Promote Environmental Care

On June 5, 2022, PT IKPP Tangerang Mill commemorates World Environment Day in collaboration with Bank Sampah Sungai Cisadane (Banksasuci) through 2 activities, Mangrove Ecotourism and Plogging Bagging Waste and Fit. The Mangrove Ecotourism involves plantation for 3,000 mangrove trees along the riverbanks of Cisadane River. Meanwhile, Plogging Bagging Waste and Fit starts from Summarecon Mall Serpong and ends in Saung Banksasuci Cihuni, Gading Serpong.

3. Riau Governor and IPB Chancellor Visited IKPP Perawang to Observe Forest and Land Fires (Karhutla) Prevention Efforts in Riau

The Governor of Riau, Drs. H. Syamsuar, M.Si., along with the Chancellor of IPB, Prof. Dr. Arif Satria and the Head of the Environmental and Forestry Department of Riau, Mamun Murod visited PT IKPP Perawang Mill, Siak Districts, on Friday, June 10, 2022. The visit aims to observe Sinar Mas Firefighters Team for their preparations on Karhutla in Riau.

4. In Commemoration of 100 Years Eka Tjipta Widjaja, Sinar Mas Association Held Mass Blood Donation

Sinar Mas Association collaborated with Indonesian Labor Union (SPSI) Tjiwi Kimia, Tzu Chi Foundation, and Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) to hold a mass blood donation, on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. The Chairman of Sinar Mas Association from Sinar Mas Insurance, Sasongkoadhi Widodo claimed that the blood donation is a part of The Tribute to Eka Tjipta Widjaja, which is a form of gratitude from all Sinar Mas pillars in East Java as a part of Sinar Mas family for the 100 years efforts of Eka Tjipta Widjaja. Taking place in PT Pabrik Kertas Tjiwi Kimia Tbk, Sidoarjo, more than 400 employees from 17 pillars of Sinar Mas contributed in this program.

5. The Tzu Chi Foundation along with APP Sinar Mas Shares Joy through Social Service of Cataract Surgery

The Tzu Chi Foundation along with Jambi 3 Volunteers Community from PT Wirakarya Sakti (PT WKS) conducted a social service of cataract surgery in dr. Bratanata Hospital, Jambi on May 27-29, 2022. Prior to the surgery, patients underwent a screening test to ensure overall safety. On May 28, 2022, the surgery went smoothly and under control, which was then followed with a post-surgery control session the day after. The joy that the patients felt through this cataract operation was also shared with the volunteers who aided the whole process of the surgery.
