Jakarta, September 6, 2024 – In an effort to build young talent in the pulp and paper industry, APP Group is once again participating in the Merdeka Campus Program - Certified Internships and Independent Study (MSIB) 2024 organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. Out of 7,754 applicants, 65 students have been selected to participate in this program designed to provide direct and in-depth professional experience in one of Indonesia's strategic industrial sectors.
With educational backgrounds from prestigious universities such as Gadjah Mada University (UGM), University of Indonesia (UI), and others, the students will undergo an intensive four-month internship program. Participants will be placed in various key divisions such as Automation, Business Unit, IT, Procurement, HR, Sustainability, Commerce, and at APP Group factories in Tangerang and Serang. This program aims to provide a deep understanding of the company's operations while honing their technical and managerial skills.
This internship program is part of APP Group's support for government initiatives through the Merdeka Campus. "We support this program because it aligns with our commitment to continuously contribute to the development of outstanding human resources in Indonesia. Through this program, we hope to provide an experience that not only enriches academic knowledge but also shapes the practical skills and soft skills needed in the real working world," said APP Group Managing Director Suhendra Wiriadinata.
Suhendra added, "We believe that the best learning comes from direct experience, and we want the students to feel how we at APP Group implement best practices in sustainability and innovation across our business lines."
As part of APP Group's efforts to strengthen the connection between education and industry, this program is designed to offer more than just a typical internship experience. Head of Strategic HR at APP Group, Marcus Budimulia, stated, "We want to give interns the opportunity to work directly on projects that are relevant to the current challenges of the industry. We hope they can develop analytical, leadership, and innovation skills that will be essential for their future careers."
Furthermore, he added, "These students are the future leaders who will bring positive change. By involving them in real projects, we also learn from the fresh perspectives they bring, which can help us improve our performance."
This program not only benefits the students but also APP Group itself. Through direct interaction with the younger generation, APP Group can continuously align its development strategies with the aspirations and hopes of today's young talent.
