Jakarta, December 12, 2024 - PT Pabrik Kertas Tjiwi Kimia Tbk (Tjiwi Kimia), one of APP Group's business units, received an award for its dedication in building strategic partnerships with Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). During the Investment Partnership Forum 2024 organized by the Ministry of Investment and Downstream/BKPM, Tjiwi Kimia won the award for Large Enterprises that have implemented partnership contracts with MSMEs, cementing its role as a strategic partner in supporting local economic growth and sustainability.
In his opening remarks of the 2024 Investment Partnership Forum, Minister of Investment and Downstream/BKPM, Rosan P Roeslani emphasized the importance of the role of large businesses, which not only involve MSMEs in partnerships, but also support the empowerment and improvement of the quality of human resources in Indonesia. “Because quality economic growth and sustainability must also have quality human resources. Education, the quality of human resources in the regions is important,” said Rosan.
Rosan also revealed that the value of partnerships between large businesses and MSMEs across Indonesia had reached Rp3.9 trillion as of December 10, 2024, involving 158 large businesses and 389 MSME players. He added, “It is expected that MSMEs are ready to work together with entrepreneurs who invest. We expect their readiness. Because investment will increase, and this will provide a multiplier effect and job creation to grow in the future.”
As one of the companies actively supporting this program, Tjiwi Kimia has proven its commitment through long-term partnerships with MSMEs. This award recognizes Tjiwi Kimia's efforts in establishing strategic collaborations that not only strengthen the company's supply chain but also provide economic opportunities for MSMEs, support economic equality, and achieve global sustainability goals, including Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG).

In the supply chain, Tjiwi Kimia involves more than 60 MSMEs to provide raw materials such as Old Corrugated Containers (OCC) and Sorted White Ledger (SWL). In addition, the company also collaborates with five MSME biomass producers in providing alternative fuels, replacing fossil fuels. This move not only helps reduce carbon emissions, but also provides new economic opportunities for local MSMEs in the renewable energy sector.
This award is in line with the theme of the event, which emphasizes the importance of synergy between large businesses and MSMEs in supporting economic equity and sustainability. Through collaboration involving various sectors, including environmentally friendly raw materials and renewable energy, Tjiwi Kimia proves that large businesses can be the main driver in building an inclusive and sustainable business ecosystem.
