Jakarta, April 11, 2022 - Asia Pulp & Paper (APP) Sinar Mas business unit, PT Ekamas Fortuna has won ISO 37001:2016 certification on Anti-Bribery Management System (SMAP). This international standard certification is designed to help organizations implement an anti-bribery management system, with a set of regulations and measures to help prevent, detect and deal with bribery.
Head of General Services PT Ekamas Fortuna, Yohanes Repelitanto welcomed the certification that was achieved, this shows the company's commitment to realizing Good Corporate Governance.
"As a company that is managed responsibly and sustainably, we continue to strive to improve ethical standards in doing business, because we believe that upholding ethics can show our identity and values better," said Yohanes.
In the application of SMAP, there are four principles that serve as guidelines, including: No Bribery (avoid/reject all forms of bribery and extortion). No Kickback (avoid / refuse to ask for commissions, thank you both in the form of money and in other forms). No Gift (avoid/reject acceptance of gifts or gratuities that are contrary to applicable rules and regulations). No Luxurious Hospitality (avoid/reject excessive reception and entertainment).
Since 2020, the company has developed an Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption Policy as an initial initiative in managing the risk of bribery and corruption within the company.
One of them is by providing a reporting platform (whistleblowing system). Through this platform, the company
ensure that anyone, if they see violating practices, including indications of bribery, can submit a report through the call center or via email.
In addition, Ekamas Fortuna always conducts socialization and online tests to employees, so that the application of SMAP can be understood and implemented by all employees.
"By successfully obtaining ISO 37001, we hope that PT Ekamas Fortuna can consistently implement the anti-bribery management system requirements so that they can get the maximum benefit from the application of these standards," said Yohanes.
