Asia Pulp & Paper (APP) Sinar Mas Indonesia agreed to continue build cooperation with APP Japan and Universal Paper Co. LTD by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The MoU signing was done virtually as part of the Trade Expo Indonesia Digital Edition Tokyo 2021: Reviving Global Trade.
The event was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan (LBPP) Heri Akhamadi, banks’ representatives, as well as the management of APP Sinar Mas Indonesia and Japan. The agreement includes the purchase of paper and tissue products made by APP Indonesia.
Heri said in his remarks that the percentage of Indonesian paper product export to Japan increased by 6.02% for the first half of 2021, which indicates growth and market for the products. “Congratulations for continuing the partnership. Hopefully, this can increase the Indo-Japan product export and bring benefits to accelerate national economic recovery,” told Heri.
Director of APP Sinar Mas Suhendra Wiriadinata was also welcoming this partnership that has been built for more than 10 years. “We are continuing to be committed to providing the best products. We keep being sustainable by innovating to bring high-quality products for consumers, including Japan's market,” he explained.
