1. Rutilahu Renovation, PT IKPP Serang Helps Residents Build Houses
PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper (IKPP) - Serang Mill plays an active role in assisting the Government in reducing the problem of Uninhabitable Houses (Rutilahu), especially around the Company. This is manifested in the Rutilahu Renovation Program which is part of the Company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities.
On May 20, 2024, IKPP - Serang Mill built a Rutilahu owned by a resident named Armad Albar, a resident of Kedung Wungu Village, Kamaruton Village, Lebak Wangi District, Serang Regency. The condition of Arman's house looks very unfit to live in. The walls are only plywood and bamboo poles, and the floor is only covered with dirt.
"Seeing the poor condition and following our criteria (IKPP – Serang Mill), we built Mr. Armad Albar's house so that it is suitable to live in," said Dani Kusumah, Public Relations of IKPP - Serang Mill.
Dani further explained, that from 2017 to 2023, IKPP - Serang Mill has implemented the Rutilahu program in as many as 43 houses. The target for the end of 2024 is 5 houses so a total of 48 houses built in this Rutilahu program.
2. Donation of Tzu Chi APP Basic Food Packages for the Sanai Tribe Community, Siak, Riau
Tzu Chi APP Xie Lie Perawang Volunteer Team, Riau, on May 7, 2024, distributed basic food packages to the Sanai Tribe community, Minas Sub-Village, West Minas Village, Minas District, Siak Regency, Riau. A total of 35 food packages containing necessities such as rice, cooking oil, and eggs were distributed. This basic food package donation is a sign of love from Tzu Chi APP for people who are more in need. This is in line with the spirit of Master Cheng Yen, "When helping others, the one who benefits the most is ourselves,".
3. PT IKPP - Perawang Mill and Siak District Government Hold Training for Posyandu Cadres in Stunting Prevention
As a part of the Company's concern and commitment to stunting prevention efforts, PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper (IKPP) - Perawang Mill held a Posyandu cadre training on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Rumah Pintar Abdul Wahid, Perawang Village, Tualang District, Siak Regency, Riau. This training themed "Improving the Human Resources of Posyandu Cadres to Prevent Stunting" was attended by 40 Posyandu cadres from Tualang District.
IKPP - Perawang Mill External Relations Manager Zulfikar ST, together with IKPP - Perawang Mill CSR Coordinator Murseno said, this activity is a form of the Company's concern for the health of infants, toddlers, and children as well as a commitment to assist the Government in efforts to prevent stunting and malnutrition in children and toddlers.
Tualang Sub-District Head, Mursal S.Sos, and Perawang Village Head, Midawati, who were also attending this activity, appreciated the efforts of IKPP - Perawang Mill in supporting stunting prevention. DP3AP2KB Siak Head, Noni Paningsih, said that the prevalence of stunting in Siak District has dropped to 11.6%, showing the commitment of the Government and Companies in achieving Siak Zero Stunting.
In this activity, the 20 best participants from this training will be selected to take part in culinary training with the theme of cooking nutritious dishes for stunting prevention.
